After seeing countless Instagram stories about World x11, Athens’ newest burger joint, I couldn’t resist the urge to give it a try myself and see if it is worth the hype.
The ordering process at World x11 is a bit unconventional. Upon arrival, you’re greeted with a poster on the wall instructing you to scan it and sign up with your email. Personally, I found this step to be a hassle, especially when I just wanted to satisfy my hunger without the extra fuss.
Once the registration is out of the way, you receive your receipt from the wall – a quirky touch that adds to the restaurant’s charm. However, it’s important to note that World x11 operates on a cashless system, so make sure to have a digital payment method.

The highlight of the experience is undoubtedly retrieving your burger from the literal hole in the wall. It’s a fun concept that adds an element of excitement to the dining process. We opted for the classic cheeseburgers, fries, and a Pepsi – a simple yet satisfying meal.
As for the food itself, it did not disappoint. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, and the fries were good – Marc described them as crispy clouds. The self-service aspect, including pouring your own drink, adds to the casual and relaxed atmosphere.

World X11’s decor seamlessly blends modern and retro elements, creating a unique ambiance with sleek white tiles, stylish blue seats, and cool lighting that enhances the overall aesthetic appeal. Additionally, the inclusion of two retro arcades adds a fun and nostalgic touch.

However, the mandatory sign-up process left a sour taste in my mouth. While I understand the restaurant’s desire to collect customer data, it felt like an unnecessary barrier to simply ordering a meal.
Overall, I would recommend giving World x11 a try at least once. Despite the minor inconvenience of the sign-up process, the innovative concept & decor of the ATM, and the delicious food make it worth it for once. Just be prepared to trade your email address for a burger.
