Introduction:
If you’re someone who loves a good ski trip, St. Moritz should undoubtedly be on your winter travel list. My ski adventures took a thrilling turn when my Marc and I decided to welcome the New Year in the charming town of St. Moritz. Originally planning for just a week, our stay was extended to two weeks as we found ourselves captivated by the breathtaking beauty and endless possibilities for adventure.

Skiing in Paradise:
Our days in St. Moritz began early, waking up at 6 o’clock to catch the first or second gondola up Engadin. The weather smiled upon us, offering perfect conditions for skiing. Engadin was vast, beautiful, and basked in glorious sunlight. We explored the slopes, relishing the thrill of each descent and making memories against the stunning alpine backdrop.

Charming Hotels:
Between our skiing escapades, we explored the nearby hotels, each with its unique charm. Among my favorites were the luxurious Suvretta House, the historic Kulm, and the inviting Badrutt’s Palace. Afternoons were spent indulging in delightful teas, savoring the warm atmosphere.

Spa Retreats:
For the days we took a break from skiing, we delved into the world of relaxation at St. Moritz’s renowned spas. A separate blog post is in the works to detail our spa experiences, but a highlight was the mineral bath in Samedan. However, I’d caution against Ovavera, which unfortunately was crowded with children.

Culinary Delights:
St. Moritz offers not only thrilling slopes but also a culinary journey worth savoring. We enjoyed lunches atop the mountains, relishing local delights, and warming up with glühwein and beers. A must-have is the rosti and fondue, ofc. However, the hype around Hanselman Bakery didn’t live up to expectations; it’s best to skip it.

Sledding:
One of the most exhilarating experiences was sledding down the slopes of Preda, accessible by a train ride from Samedan. The sledging piste is open from morning till 11 o’clock at night, lit up for nighttime adventures. After an adrenaline-pumping ride, a charming spot at the base offers refreshments, making it an adventure worth every moment.

In conclusion, St. Moritz is not just a destination; it’s an experience that transcends the ordinary. From pristine slopes to charming hotels, delightful spas, and thrilling adventures, this Swiss gem offers a winter escape like no other. Whether you’re an avid skier or someone seeking a picturesque retreat, St. Moritz has something for everyone. Make this winter unforgettable by embarking on a journey to St. Moritz—a trip you most definitely should not miss.
